You'll see that the day goes through many stages:

5) 7:45 a.m. - Get out of bed to prep for the big call. Proceed to get more nervous than I have been in my entire life...

...what feels like hours later...

4) 8:20 a.m. - Receive call from Mr. Ribeiro...apparently I won the race.! No margins were given, but I'm ecstatic about the results. I think I actually did a little dance after I hung up the phone (don't tell anyone!)...

...attend class, then...

3) 2:45 p.m. - Hit the Tombs for the first time of the day. Had a celebratory diet coke toast with Lally and some Cohort 2 peeps...

...attended class (again), then...

2) 5:30 p.m. - Hit the Tombs for the second time of the day. This time just for a pick-up order. Tried to mentally prepare for MarkStrat...

...and finally...

1) 6:00 p.m. - Head to the Car Barn where I proceed to work on MarkStrat with my group until 11 p.m. Good times. Definitely good times.

Despite the fact that I still have at least three hours of homework in front of me, today was DEFINITELY the Best Campaign Day (and night) EVER!!!

Tomorrow I'm off to LA to visit Toyota, so check back next week for another thrilling entry. Though I may not write entries this weekend, know that in my heart (and yours), today is honestly the Best Campaign Day EVER!

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 23

10...9...8... Calling DICK CLARK! This rockin' SGA eve needs some serious spicing up! The Countdown clock is at ...T minus...mere hours or minutes (or it is already tomorrow afternoon, depending on when you are reading this).

Today has been another fun-filled, sugar-coated day! With buttons and candy filling the fishbowl, studying taking a slight seat on the back-burner, and lots of handshaking and networking, I think I can safely declare that today is The Best Campaign Day EVER! In fact, I think this Campaign Day cannot be beat. Full of excitement and nerves, I have a sneaking suspicion that this may just be the Last Campaign Day Ever. I don't know what I'm going to do at 11:45 p.m. every night now. Maybe homework? Or The Daily Show. Yes, The Daily Show! Or, you may be in luck, and I may continue recounting the Best Campaign Day Ever FOREVER, campaign or no campaign!

So put those hands together, folks, and give a big cheer to the last top 5 list of The Best Campaign Day ever! Here we go...

5) After a full-blown button party this morning at 3 a.m., Cohort 2 was representing in their stylish Jenny Lee Buttons in the fishbowl and in the classroom. For a sample of Cohort 2 representation, please see below:
Pictured clockwise from bottom left, are: Vting, Jake, BB, Ward, and Mr. Newman.
(Note: Soundtracks from the 3 a.m. button party can be ordered directly through me. Though, I must warn you, the disc only has one song on it -- the Pussycat Dolls' smash hit "Buttons." Gill and Chief, below, encourage you to pre-purchase th soundtrack.)
4) Masterful Campaign Manager Meagan and I also spent the wee hours of the morning labeling candy and stuffing them in mailboxes.
3) We were able to stay up during the wee hours by giving ourselves little jolts of sugar in the form of the candy we didn't pass out today...

2) Mr. Sen Sharma has masterfully created yet another wonderful LineRider.org image for the voting public. Keep your eyes on this guy...I think he will start showing his work in a local gallery (or classroom) near you soon.
1) If I had an Almond Joy for every time an awesome supporter asked if there were exit polls out yet, I'd have at least 20 Almond Joys. That's a lot of coconut (and support!). It's a good thing that sometimes you feel like a nut...Almond Joy's have nuts; Mounds don't.

Whew. After all that, it really does appear that there can be no Campaign Day that beats today, the absolute Best Campaign Day Ever!

I'm signing off for tonight, but hopefully not forever...

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 22

The Official Campaign Countdown Clock is still ticking...T minus 1 DAY!

Tonight, on this special Election Eve, I took a moment to reminisce about the campaign, the MSB, and all the cookies I ate today (Mmmm!). After a few minutes, everything became crystal clear: Today was absolutely, positively, the Best Campaign Day EVER! Today was full of meeting new people, talking with old friends, eating delicious treats, playing in the snow, and chatting with my family. What could be better than that? Nothing!

It was difficult, but I whittled today's exciting list down to the top five happenings of the day. Here they are, in reverse order:

5) Cookies, rice crispie treats, and brownies. Need I say more?

4) With the leftover crunchy snow, Brett Birkeland (VP of Finance) packed some serious snowballs, and my roommates and I created a little bit of art on my porch (it's not what you're thinking ... we used a stick):3) My campaign team and I met in our virtual war room for some serious strategy. We g-talked through many ideas, including: Krispy Kreme, sandwich boards, miniature candies, a singing telegram in each class, a "JENNY LEE for SGA President" cardboard hat, and many other exciting campaign ideas. Sadly, only one of these made it off the drawing board...you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see which one won!

2) We had our rockin' Cohort 4 speeches today. It was really great chatting and meeting some new folks at the MSB! Who knew we could have so much fun without pizza?!

1) My awesome dad wrote me the best e-mail ever today. Since I'm not calling my folks as much as I'd like to these days, I forwarded my parents this blog URL so they would remember me, and this is what my dad said: "Hi Jenn, thanks for your blogspot. We are following it every day. It is great! Have the best campaign day ever! With love, Papa."

After an e-mail like that, today can't be anything but the Best Campaign Day Ever!

Have a great night, everyone and see you tomorrow at the virtual polls.

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 21

Watch out, Martha Stewart -- I've learned how to bake!

I hope you had a lovely weekend full of snow, socializing, and studying! I actually think that today just might be...the Best Campaign Day Ever!

Grab your snow shoes for today's top five list...

5) The Best Campaign Week Ever Clock began ticking off the official election day countdown: T Minus 2 Days and counting.

4) ... yesterday babies, today doggies!

LISTEN TO THE DOGS...
THEY ARE BIG, AND THEY KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!

3) My campaign manager, Meagan Gallivan (VP of Communications), and I spent the day baking cookies, rice krispie treats, and brownies for YOU! We will be outside the fishbowl tomorrow from 9:30-10:30 a.m. meeting, greeting, and, of course, eating! All the candidates for SGA President are meeting with the swing Cohort (swing as in Ohio, not a group of dancers) to chat about our platform and vision for the MSB.

1) I finalized my e-mail that is going out to the school. It is chalk-full of campaign platform highlights. Don't forget to read the e-mail! (Remember ... #4 ... they know where you live...)

That's the list for today! I've been g-talking my campaign managers to finalize our campaign-week plan, and I think that because of our great brainstorming, I can safely declare that today was...(drum roll, please)...the Best Campaign Day Ever!

Here's the top fiver from today:

5) My MarkStrat group took at time-out to do a little campaign-related blog viewing. Herman Singh, Meagan Gallivan, and Chad Camilli all read, analyzed, and laughed ferociously at this here blog. Chad also ate chips (I know this because the photo caught him with his hand in the bag).

4) I got to practice my 30 second campaign pitch to a captive audience.

3) I am pretty sure she said she would vote for me after hearing my pitch...or maybe she just had some movement in her diaper...either way, she was definitely smiling!

2) After her solid endorsement, my four-year-old nephew was also on board. Well, also after he sang the song from The Polar Express to me ... four times (and showed me his new train). Anyway, it's nice to know that if the under-five population could vote, I would be in good really good shape.

1) I e-mailed Susie Min (Cohort 4 Rep.) about the format of the Meet-and-Greet on Monday. (After talking to two children, it was nice to talk to an adult again.).

Ahh, what a day. Kissing babies, shaking hands, sending e-mails, rockin' MarkStrat... all in a campaign day's work! Check back soon, as this week is SURE to provide some interesting blog entries! Taataa.

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 19

Hello my fellow blog-ians,

I hope you are enjoying your beautiful day! After an exciting day full of prospective students, current students, and MarkStrat, I think I can safely declare that today was the Best Campaign Day Ever! So here we are...the top five list from this campaign-filled day:

5) Kenny Moore, David Krieger, and I threw Cohort 4 some Jenny Lee Campaign Love. As you can see, Kenny had a special Cohort 4 shake that was just too fast for the camera. If only blogspot did video. Then we'd ALL be in trouble!

4) Found out Sophie Bambuck has a blog, too! It's not campaign-related, but still very fun! You should get one, too! Everyone's doing it! Check out Sophie's comment on the Best Campaign Day Ever blog from January 18.

3) Spoke with tons of great prospective students about SGA and Georgetown at the Women in Business recruiting event on campus. I remember attending that event myself last year, how great the SGA table was, and how impressed I was with everyone that participated! Memories, light the corners of my mind ... misty water-colored memories ... of the event last year. (I was just singing out loud... too bad blogspot doesn't have sound either.)

2) Grabbed coffee at Saxby's with Ashley Breed (Cohort 4) to talk about the VP of Student Services position. We talked ATMs, stamp machines, new student orientation, and other fun student services topics. Okay, so we also talked about what we are going to wear at the Texas party tonight. Give us a break, it's been a long week!

1) My awesome sister e-mailed me about my blog (she finally read it) and gave me the best definition for FUNCATION ever:
Funcation noun -- (1) the act or process of producing funk ("Paradoxiacally, Hip Hop's roots go back to the funcation of gospel church music"); (2) the assumption of a funky form or smell ("Man, did you burn something while you were cooking? The kitchen's been going through some heavy funcation!")

On that funky note, I am off to dinner and the Texas party. Hope to see you there!

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 18

Hello MSB-ers (and other folks on my g-talk list that are checking this blog because it is the only way to keep up with me since I don't get to see or talk to you as much as I would like to...),

I hope you are having a most wonderful Thursday. I know I am! In fact, I think that today just may be the Best Campaign Day Ever. Because I'm feeling so chipper, I'm going to make this a PRIZE BLOG. Wanna win?! Read on...

Here are five key highlights from the campaign trail:

5) I got to shake hands and talk some good campaign shop with 1st and 2nd years (pictured below: Tim Tsai, Cohort 3, and Michael Cornstubble, 2nd year).

Side note: If you are reading this, you should buy stock in hand sanitizer. I'm using it like it's going out of style.

4) My campaign manager managed to get more wonderful prizes for the great blog contests we have! Stay tuned to win some yummy treats!

3) Swimming. I'm going to do it. Yay!

2) I made up a new word in Macro today: Funcation. I suppose that is what happens when you are multi-tasking and typing too fast! Now for the PRIZE: The first FIVE people to e-mail me with the most creative definition of FUNCATION will WIN! (note: if you have won a prize before, you can still enter to win this game). E-mail JHL67@georgetown.edu or text my cell phone to WIN!

1) Rahul Sen Sharma made this beautiful work of art. I think he has some real Linerider.org talent. In fact, I should talk to him about putting it on his resume as an "activity or interest". What employer wouldn't love that? It's almost as good as Neal's "avid TV watcher"...I shall speak with Rahul about it tonight at the European Business Association party.

Okay, off to do some Macro. Later, blog friends!

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 17

Hello everyone! As many of you may (or may not) know, today was the Best Campaign Day Ever. It's all about the speeches...and...American Idol. I only wish that Brandi and The Hoff (David Hasslehoff) were there today. Not only would they have loved some pizza, I could have shown off my juggling skills AND won a million dollars (America DOES have talent)!
Here they are, the top five American Idol quotes after today’s event (if you missed the big speech, hopefully these reviews are helpful):

5) “Riveting” - Taylor Hicks

4) “A Cow and a Calf? The first two people to e-mail me (JHL67@georgetown.edu) with the name of my new endorser will win a small (but awesome) prize!! The prize will be in your mailbox tomorrow.

Now...on to the good stuff...

I have to give two HUGE shout-outs today for making today the...you guessed it...Best Campaign Day Ever! First, to Dean Daly for taking time out of his busy day to chat with me about my run for presidency and the future of the MSB. Second, to Anne Jones for a great one-on-one conversation about improving communications across all areas at the MSB.

Tonight's top five list from this wonderful day. Ahhh...

5) Dean Daly use to work in Iowa, and thus appreciated my COW’D and CALF ideas.

4) I realized during Macro that today was, in fact, Tuesday...and not Monday! Hooray for holidays (and Macro?).

3) In addition to meeting with Anne Jones, I also met with her Door, who gave me a wonderful enDOORsement for my campaign. (Thank you, Door. I won't forget you.)

2) Dean Daly and I looked fabulous during our meeting today in our suits (so did his Chief of Staff Jeff Frankey, below). I wonder if they were interviewing with 3M or JP Morgan??!

1) It was great to see eye-to-eye on so many topics with Dean Daly...despite the fact that I am nearly a foot shorter than him, I share his vision and look forward to working with him more in the future.

Alrighty, that's the list for tonight, folks! Don't forget to e-mail me the trivia answer (JHL67@georgetown.edu) for your fun prize!

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 15

Guess what today is?! Yep, you got it – The Best Campaign Day Ever!
Seriously, today really is the Best Campaign Day Ever. We had no classes, and I got to eat lots and lots of cookies (all in the name of my campaign, of course). That’s right…I’m testing recipes to bring to each and every one of you. Scrumptious!

Since the Golden Globes are on, I won't hold you any longer (my arms are getting tired anyway). So, let's quickly get started on the top five reasons why today really was the Best Campaign Day Ever.

5) Any day full of cookies is a great day (campaign-related or not)!

4) I got to chat with some awesome MSB alums at the 3M reception. It's a shame they can’t vote. Hmm...something to think about. Can you imagine -- the year 2010, and you get an e-mail about how you can decide the fate of three cohort reps running for SGA pres. Haa, that will be the day.

3) Took the RV to get it washed. And sold. (Is this not funny to you? Read yesterday's blog. It still may not be funny, but at least it will make a little more sense).

2) I showed Jamie Dunchick (Cohort 1) and Judith Vanderhorst (Cohort 2) my blog. They were psyched I didn't use the cheesy (but rhymy) "Vote for Mee, Jenny Lee" on the site.
1) I practiced my speech today. My audience was great. The ladder asked me a tough question, but I think I nailed it.

That's all I've got for this MLK holiday. Hope you enjoyed the photos in the Car Barn. There will be more of them to come...as well as prizes for frequent blog visitors! The prizes aren't just Bic pens or empty CD cases, either...keep a close eye on this url, and maybe you will be a winner!

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 14 (I mean...Monday, January 15 at 12:15 a.m.)

Hello! Welcome to the Best Campaign Day Ever.

This morning, my campaign manager called me to tell me that my campaign trail RV was gassed up and waiting. I immediately packed my bags and was ready to hit the road.
So that leaves us with the list for today. The top five learnings from today’s Best Campaign Day Ever:

5) A suitcase and two backpacks aren’t necessary to campaign on campus.

4) Neither is a gassed up RV.

3) McDonald’s tastes great even when you aren’t on an actual road trip. Maybe I can expense this with my campaign manager.

2) Campaigning on the Sunday before Martin Luther King’s Birthday (observed) is fun, but maybe not that effective. Where were you guys, anyway? The ol’ Barn was EMPTY!

1) Best Campaign Day Ever is yet another good acronym to put in the books (children’s books, that is): BCDE. Too bad its not “A Best Campaign Day Ever For Georgetown Hoyas. I, Jenny ‘Killer’ Lee, May Now Own (a) Pretty Quick RV, Stuck There Under Vicious Washington’s Xtreme Young Zealots”. Whew. Now that’s what I call an ACRONYM!

Best Campaign Day Ever - January 13

Today has been the BEST CAMPAIGN DAY ever! Whomever thought of gtalk is a genius. And should be fired immediately. Gtalk decreases my productivity by at least 5.73% on any given day. Though, today (the best campaign day ever), has been extremely productive because of it. So, I guess 5.73% is really more like 1.2%. Without further ado, let's get started...

5) I woke up with a revelation (and a slight headache from the McFadden's gathering) -- "Vote for Mee, Jenny Lee" not only included incorrect spelling, it was so kitschy I might as well have named myself Bennifer or TomKat...

4) Acronym-mania. I finally nailed down the acronym for my campaign platform. From the Cohort 2 Weekly Deliverables Document (COW'D), I birthed a CALF (don't worry, it wasn't that painful). Before this calf came out, there were a number of other extremely clever (and not always appropriate) acronyms, including: BARN, DOG, MILK, Udder, Mad COW'd, and MILF. Yes, MILF (it was a close second).

3) I had a killer campaign brainstorm (on gtalk, of course) with Vanessa Ting (rockstar co-prez of the GMA)! The birth of this blog was because of MSB's very own VTing. Sure, she knocked down some of my ideas, but in the end, what you have is an almost-entertaining blog. What blog topic ideas did she knock, you ask? Well, one about the length of a certain professor's tie. And another about the girl who was walking around campus alone at 3 a.m. and got whistled at (but not injured) by a male who was between the ages of 15 and 67. So when you get bored of this campaign chatter and want to hear the real campus dirt...go to VTing.

2) 1:14 p.m. Delicious lunch with old friends. I told them I was running for president, and they emphatically said that if they went to the MSB, they would vote for me. Dining with old friends didn't help my campaign, but it did give me garlic breathe...I mean...confidence.

1) Whew. I finished the draft of my official Letter of Intent. Jason Liptak (Cohort 1) took a big, fat, ugly red pen to it, and now it is complete. It's off to the press for your circular file. Post your comments and other random musings right here on this blog!

That closes up my list for tonight.
